Rashford's Fate On The January Stock Exchange: PSG Interested, But Manchester United Wants To Exchange

JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain is targeting Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, considering coach Luis Enrique hinted at strengthening his squad in the January 2025 transfer window.

Rashford has publicly said he wants a new challenge after 20 years with the Red Devils.

Rashford representatives also have a good relationship with PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

However, sources close to PSG are downplaying the possibility of a January 2025 deal for the 27-year-old.

Luis Enrique has left the door open for new arrivals in the transfer window. However, recruitment is impossible unless Randal Kolo Muani and Milan Skriniar leave.

"We're always open to improving the team, but I'm lucky to coach a team with a lot of quality, ambition, and level."

"It's a pleasure for me. Of course, if we can step up the team, we'll try it."

"However, it is a difficult task because the best players are not available in winter. Summer is also difficult, but now it's even more difficult," Enrique said ahead of the Trophee des Champions (Super France Cup).

Manchester United are actually open to accepting an offer for Rashford in January 2025. Both a permanent deal and a loan offer will be considered.

The money collected from his departure will be used to increase Ruben Amorim's squad.

Meanwhile, Rashford doesn't want to move to Saudi Arabia this month. He turned down three big offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia worth 35 million pounds per year.

If leaving Old Trafford, the striker's choice is to find a club in one of Europe's top five leagues - especially Spain - to give him the best chance of getting his place back in the England squad, under new coach Thomas Tuchel.

The Red Devils also did not rule out the possibility of considering offers from other Premier League clubs.

The loan offer will only be taken seriously if it includes guarantees to pay most of Rashford's salary of 350,000 per week.

Manchester United are ready to be flexible to help Rashford find a new club, but they also don't rule out the possibility that he will remain at Old Trafford after the end of the winter market.

Rashford has remained professional since his last match against FC Viktoria Plzen on December 12, 2024 and is ready to play if summoned by Amorim to join the squad again.

After being expelled from the squad for four games, he became a substitute who was not used in the 0-2 defeat to Newcastle United on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

Given the flexibility of the Red Devils, they also open up wide opportunities for exchange.

Manchester United will try to agree to a deal that will bring together Marcus Rashford and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen for the exchange. However, Rashford will only go to a competitive club.

Meanwhile Osimhen was loaned out to Galatasaray after permanently leaving Napoli could not be agreed last summer.

Osminhen has a release clause of 62 million pounds, but the swap with Rashford is approvable.
