Looking At The Second Round Of Liga 1 2024/2025, Borneo Geber Practices Also For ASEAN Club Championship Preparation

JAKARTA - Welcoming the beginning of 2025, Borneo FC immediately stepped on the gas to undergo training for the second round of Liga 1 2024/2025. Not only that, they are also preparing to appear at the ASEAN Club Championship.

Borneo FC achieved an unsatisfactory result in the first round of Liga 1 2024/2025. Pieter Huistra's team ended the first round in eighth place after perching at the top.

Before the break, Borneo FC even closed the match with defeats to Persebaya Surabaya (1-2) and Persik Kediri (0-4). From that result, Borneo FC will improve in order to appear serious looking at the competition in the second round.

Borneo FC Team Manager Farid said that the team's early-year training session had also been held at Training Ground Lok Bahu, Samarinda, East Kalimantan, as of Friday, January 3, 2025.

In addition to preparing for the second round, Borneo FC also finalized the engine before playing the follow-up match at the 2024/2025 ASEAN Club Championship (ACC).

"So, the team has started training again. There are many things that must be addressed and evaluated in the team to achieve the target this season," Farid said as quoted from Borneo FC's official website on Friday, January 3, 2025.

"Therefore, we will improve for the second round later. Of course we will also focus on each match at the ACC," he said again.

At the ACC, Borneo FC was fourth in the Group B standings with a collection of three points. The win was obtained after Pesut Etam defeated Lion City Sailors (3-0) and lost to Kuala Lumpur City FC (0-1).

In order to improve his position, Farid said the focus of the team at this time was how to evaluate last year's shortcomings. Even so, he doesn't talk much about Borneo FC's activities in the season lag transfer market.

"About it (the new player and who will be loaned), we have not been able to provide an official statement."

"That's the realm of management. We only focus on team preparation for internal competition and ACC," he said.
