Telecommunication Data Service Traffic Up 23 Percent During The 2025 Nataru Holiday
JAKARTA - During the Christmas and New Year 2025 holidays, the Deputy Minister of Komdigi, Nezar Patria, said that the traffic of cellular telecommunications data services increased by 23 percent.
"Based on reports from cellular operators, there is an increase of 21-23 percent," Nezar explained in his official broadcast quoted Friday, January 3.
Nezar also emphasized that the government has set a cellular network speed standard of at least 30 Mbps in strategic areas such as ports, stations, and airports.
He explained, during the Nataru Holiday, the quality of the telecommunications network and radio frequency spectrum had been running smoothly to maintain the safety of passenger mobility, both at sea on land and air.
"Our telecommunications service checks that what we do is also quite good from what we do in accordance with the standards set by Komdigi, the signal speed is at least 30 Mbps," he said.
Meanwhile, during the Nataru 2025 holiday, there was a surge in the number of vehicles passing through the Trans Sumatra and Trans Java route by more than 30 percent.
For this reason, the Ministry of Komdigi is tasked with ensuring smooth telecommunication quality at several point of interest points such as airports, ports, etc.

The government through the Ministry of Transportation already has an application for tracking shipping traffic called Indonesian Integrated Monitoring System On Navigation or I-Motion.
According to Nezar, this check can be done in real time and has been connected to all regions of the archipelago waters.
