LineageOS 22 Comes With Android 15: New Music Player And Mandatoryly Tryable Advanced Feature!
JAKARTA - LineageOS 22 is now officially present, bringing an Android 15-based update accompanied by various new features and adjustments. The latest Build will begin to be released in the next few days.
In an announcement via an official blog, LineageOS 22 is the latest update of this ROM project. However, this isn't the first ROM to officially support Android 15. The honor is owned by Evolution X, which has been tested before.
Compared to the release of Android 14, LineageOS 22 is much faster than scheduled. This update comes before the end of 2024, giving LineageOS 21 users the opportunity to upgrade to the latest Android version. LineageOS 22 is based on Android 15 QPR1, including all security patches until December 2024, and released as version 22.1, in accordance with changes to the SDK minor version scheme from Google.
One of the biggest additions on LineageOS 22 is a new music app called "Twelve", which replaces old music player "Eleven". The app features Material You design, landscape modes for tablets and large screens such as folding phones, as well as support for music library server protocols such as Subsonic and Jellyfin.

In addition, LineageOS 22 now includes a built-in PDF reader to overcome limitations to the Jelly browser. This makes it easier for users who don't want to install additional apps just to read documents.
Other changes include new download pages with dark themes, additional device image download options, and the ability to verify downloaded files, even if they don't come from official repositories.
More than 100 devices support LineageOS 22, including the entire Pixel 9 series for the first time. In addition, 50 other devices now support the LineageOS 21 build which was released last year.
Currently, downloads for LineageOS 22 are not yet available, but will be released in the next few weeks. To get started, you can learn more on the official LineageOS website.
