Alue Siwah Well Bursts With Poisonous Gas, Hundreds Of Villagers In East Aceh Fled, 9 People Are Still Being Treated
JAKARTA - The East Aceh District Health Office stated that nine victims of poison gas from Alue Siwah (AS) 11 well belonging to PT Medco EP Malaka are still being treated in hospital.
"There are still nine victims being treated in a number of rooms at the Zubir Mahmud Regional General Hospital, East Aceh," said the head of the East Aceh Health Service Sahminan in Idi.
Initially, the number of poison gas victims who were treated in the hospital was 20 people. However, 11 of them have been allowed to go home because their conditions have improved. All of the victims were residents of Panton Rayeuk T Village, Banda Alam District, East Aceh Regency.
Sahminan said the poison gas victims were treated in a number of rooms at Zubir Mahmud Hospital, including the Men's Internal Medicine Room (RPDP), the Women's Internal Medicine Room (RPDW), the Child Care Room (RPA) and the ICU Room.
"Most of the victims or patients of the poison gas complain of pain in the stomach, nausea, vomiting, coughing, fever and difficulty breathing. However, now their condition is getting better, ”said Sahminan.
Sahminan said that patients who had been discharged were now staying at a hotel in Idi, including a patient who had previously been referred to the Zainoel Abidin Regional Hospital in Banda Aceh and a patient who was being treated at the Graha Bunda Idi Hospital.
"Patients who have been allowed to go home, but are temporarily housed in the Idi hotel, are aimed at facilitating monitoring of their health development," said Sahminan.
Sahminan said the patients who were still under treatment included Muhammad (19), Saiful Bahri (43), Hajidan, (33), Muhammad Nur (31), Mariana, (35), Sakdiah (60), Lulu Hafifah, 5 years old and Chalisa is 10 years old.
Previously, dozens of residents in Panton Rayeuk T Village, Banda Alam Subdistrict, East Aceh, collapsed as a result of inhaling poisonous gas from PT Medco EP Malaka's AS-11 gas burning activity, Friday, April 9 morning.
A total of 20 residents who were victims of the poison gas were treated in a number of illnesses both at the East Aceh and Banda Aceh Hospitals. Meanwhile, 302 residents in the village were forced to flee to the office of the Banda Alam sub-district head and Panton Rayeuk M village, to avoid gas poisoning.
