Ertiga Successfully Becomes Suzuki's Best Selling Model Throughout 2024 In India

JAKARTA - Suzuki has pocketed 1,625,308 sales in India in the January-November 2024 period, an increase of 1 percent compared to last year's acquisition in the same period.

Launching from Autocar India, Tuesday, December 31, the MPV Ertiga model managed to become the best-selling one during 2024 with a total of 174,035 units (up 49 percent) or managed to outperform the small-dimensional car WAgon R of 173,552 units or a difference of 483 units.

However, this figure could still change considering the manufacturer hasn't provided a sales report for a calendar year and hasn't provided any indication of sales development in December.

However, this achievement has become a positive trend for the MPV considering Ertiga lost badly to the Rawon R in the calendar year last year.

For information, Wagon R managed to become the best-selling model by touching the number 201,301 units last year and Ertiga only books 129,968 units or with a difference of 71,333 units.

This figure is also thanks to the demand for multi-purpose or multipurpose vehicles which are currently growing rapidly in India compared to the passenger car segment. For eleven months this year, Ertiga's best sales were in October with 18,785 units.

Meanwhile, in other segments such as hatchbacks in the Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Swift, Wagon R, Celerio, and Ignis models as well as sedans such as Dzire and Ciaz contributed a combined sales figure of 843,261 units, down 12 percent compared to last year in the same period.

Under Ertiga and Wagon R, there was Suzuki Brezza or a twin of Toyota Urban Cruiser who managed to get 170,823 units.
