The Refreshment Of The Highest Variant BMW I4 Will Be Released In 2025, Its Performance Rises Drastically

JAKARTA - BMW has set out its plans to bring freshness to several EV models for next year, one of which is by presenting i4 with more powerful performance.

According to a BMW Blog report, Tuesday, December 31, the upgrade, which includes revisions of electric motors and battery packs, promises to improve performance and reach, ensuring i4 remains an attractive option in BMW's electric product lineup.

One of the highlights is rebranding i4 M50 xDrive to i4 M60 xDrive or the same name as the highest i5 variant.

Not only names, this German manufacturer will provide the same i4 M60 xDrive powertrain as the i5 M60 xDrive armed with a 590 dk electric double motorcycle compared to the previous 536 dk. Thus, this offers a different driving pleasure with significant performance improvement.

According to internal sources, BMW plans to launch the car globally in July 2025. However, shipments to customers will vary according to market needs.

Before moving on to the M60 xDrive variant, the i4 M50 xDrive model is one of the electric sedans that has a large contribution to high-performance EVs.

Among the total 202,530 units of BMW M products last year, i4 M50 became the best-selling EV. In fact, the score surpassed a gasoline-powered model like M2 Coupe.

The presence of the BMW i4 M60 xDrive is the right step to ensure the Gran Coupe becomes a strong model in the EV market towards the end of its production period before being replaced by a Neue Classe-based model with the internal code NA2 i4.

In addition to i4, the manufacturer from Bavaria will also update the iX model from the M60 variant to M70 or the same as used in the highest i7 variants. This will align the SUV with other BMW's newest electric product lineup and provide similar improvements in terms of overall power, efficiency and performance.
