David Silva, The Man City Legend Who Lets Beer And Party Until 6 A.M
JAKARTA - Something is interesting about David Silva that tells of his former colleague at Manchester City, Micah Richards. What is that?
Richards said the City legend loved beer and used to party until 6 A.M on his pre-season tour.
Silva is renowned for his genius on the pitch and outstanding passing quality and is often cited as one of the best players in the Premier League.
During his time at the Etihad, the now costumed Real Sociedad player made 436 appearances and scored 77 goals and 141 assists.
His hard work saw City win four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, and five League Cups.
However, even though Silva appeared to be quiet, Richards shared another side of the agile playmakers.
The former right-back, who spent more than four years with Silva, told the Match of the Day podcast: "David Silva likes any beer. He also has a big belly, he really hates running. He's really talented".
"One time (on a pre-season tour) in Los Angeles and (coach Roberto) Mancini said we could go out (the hotel). But only until 12 at night. What the hell? The party just started at that time!", continued Richards.
He added that their room was on the third floor and there was security in the hotel. However, they were able to sneak out via the stairs on the outside of the room.
Together with Joleon Lescott and Nigel De Jong, Silva and Richards went out in gym clothes just in case. Four taxis were ready to take them away.
They returned to the hotel at 6 A.M. And Silva was the last to arrive there. However, the next day in training he was the first to run.
"I was amazed. He is a living legend", said Richards.
