Guntur Romli: Hasto Doesn't Eat Himself With Bung Karno, But As A Student

Spokesperson for the PDI-P, Mohamad Guntur Romli, gave the right to answer as well as a defense regarding the news that cornered PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristianto when responding to his determination as a suspect by the KPK.

Guntur emphasized that Hasto was not equalizing himself to Bung Karno, but positioning himself as a student of Bung Karno.

"Articleating that the Secretary General is likeing him to Bung Karno is a form of failure to understand the statement of the Secretary General and Bung Karno's teachings, which are actually only tendentious attacks against the Secretary General," said Guntur Romli in his statement, Saturday, December 28.

This problem began when Hasto made his statement after being officially named a suspect by the KPK. Hasto said, as a student of Bung Karno, he followed what was written in Cindy Adams' book that the principle held by the proclaimer was non-cooperation.

In his book of struggles, Hasto calls for the sake of the ideals of an independent Indonesia, imprisonment is also part of the sacrifice.

However, Hasto's statement was actually seen as something that tarnished Soekarno's name. Even the grandson of the proclaimer, Didi Mahardika, was furious because Hasto was judged to be equalizing Bung Karno

Guntur emphasized that Hasto's statement was to invite the public to read Bung Karno's book again, which always emits energy and belief in profession for across time.

"By quoting Bung Karno, the Secretary General wants to invite us to re-read Bung Karno's books, especially 'Bung Karno Connects the Tongue of the Indonesian People's Tongue' and emulates Bung Karno's struggle," explained Guntur Romli.
