PT PLN (Persero) through the Sub-holding of PT PLN Energi Primary Indonesia (PLN EPI) has confirmed that it has secured coal supply for 2025.

President Director of PLN EPI, Iwan Agung Firstantara, said that his party has accepted the commitment to supply 80 million metric tons (MT) of coal from suppliers for power plants in 2025.

"We have received a commitment of 80 million tons from suppliers because we have confirmed it from the start," he said in the Energy Corner quoted on Saturday, December 28.

Iwan added, although there is still a shortage of coal supply, he ensured that by the end of December the shortage of supplies would be resolved in accordance with the initial commitment.

Furthermore, Iwan explained, PLN EPI has 3 main stakeholders including suppliers, consumers in this case power plants and finally policy makers. Iwan emphasized that his party has ensured that the supply for power plants is in accordance with the needs in the field with accurate calculations.

For this reason, from the start he has been actively communicating with suppliers and generators.

"We convey to the supplier, in this case the person who received an assignment from the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal, we have held a coordination meeting every month and the supplier has given confirmation to supply it in 2025," explained Iwan.

Iwan also said that PLN EPI actively communicated with the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal, Directorate General of Oil and Gas of the Earth, SKK Migas and the Directorate General of Electricity.

"Because the primary energy that we manage is regulated. The price has been determined, then it needs DMO and so on so that communication and coordination between suppliers, stakeholders and consumers is very crucial in our supply chain management," said Iwan.
