Ruben Amorim Confused Asked When Manchester United's Awakening Will Be

Ruben Amorim said he "did not know" when the performance of the team he trained, Manchester United (MU), improved after being defeated by Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves) with a score of 0-2 at the Molineux Stadium, Friday WIB.

The defeat at Molineux was MU's third consecutive defeat in the domestic competition after 15 December when they won at the Manchester derby against Manchester City.

"I don't know. I don't know," said Amorim, quoted from the official Premier League website, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, December 28.

"This is a difficult moment and we are still far from the end of this moment," he added.

In all competitions, Amorim has played 10 games where he won four, drew one, and lost five of them in his last five Premier League games.

This record made him the first Manchester United manager to lose five of his first 10 club coaches in all competitions since Walter Crickmer, who lost six times in January 1932.

The Portugal head coach said it would take time to improve things on the ground.

"Considering that I'm trying to understand how much time it takes, just day by day, to develop, try to watch videos and use every minute of training and try to get a few points because it's very important at this moment," he explained.

The Red Devils were thrown into 14th position in the standings with 22 points before their last match in 2024 against Newscastle United, a team that has always won from their last four matches, on Tuesday (31/12) at 03.00 WIB at Old Trafford.

The number of their points is closer to the relegation zone (eight points) than the top four (11 points).

Asked how he responded to this, Amorim said, "Right now we just have to defend and win sometimes".

"As I said on the first day, we had to fight this bad moment because it's part of football," continued the coach who came from Sporting Lisbon.

While chasing a win to end a streak of poor results, the Reds Devils' move is predicted to be difficult after they lost captain Bruno Fernandes who was suspended for a red card and Manuel Ugarte who served a sentence of five yellow cards.
