Jasa Raharja Boss Says 20 Percent Of Traffic Accident Causes Due To Fatigue

PURWAKARTA - Jasa Raharja President Director Rivan A. Purwantono said that based on data, 20 percent of the causes of traffic accidents were due to fatigue.

Likewise with accidents involving tourism buses on the Cipularang KM 80 Toll Road.

This was conveyed by Rivan after visiting the victims of the Cipularang toll tourism bus accident at Radjak Purwakarta Hospital. Also present were Deputy Minister of SOEs Dony Oskaria, and Director of Operations Jasa Raharja, Dewi Aryani Suzana.

"The last accident occurred was due to fatigue, and fatigue almost reached 20 percent, which was the cause of traffic accidents," he said at Radjak Hospital, Purwakarta, West Java, Friday, December 27.

Rivan said the accident that occurred at 02.20 WIB resulted in a total of 64 victims, namely 2 people died, 25 victims were still being treated at the hospital, and 1 victim was being treated by the ICU.

For the victims who died, continued Rivan, Jasa Raharja had handed over compensation of Rp. 50 million each which was handed over to his heirs, while for the injured victims, he had received a guarantee of treatment fees at Radjak Hospital.

"Hopefully some patients with minor injuries can be discharged today," he said.

On the other hand, Rivan revealed that the trend of traffic accidents in the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 (Nataru) periods this year decreased when compared to the previous year.

However, he continued, Jasa Raharja will continue to be on standby and continue to monitor until the backflow later.

Until today, compensation for death has decreased by about 3 percent compared to the same period, although this has not yet reached the end. It is hoped that this is a form of our involvement to continue to maintain conditions until completion, including from the driver's side and others," he added.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of SOEs, Dony Oskaria, appreciated the cooperation between Jasa Raharja, Jasa Marga, and other SOEs with Korlantas Polri in providing the best service at this Nataru moment.

"We are grateful that this year's Nataru trip was smoother than the previous year, although there was an increase in the number of travelers," he said.

Dony said as President Prabowo Subianto's message that the Nataru celebration must take place safely and comfortably. Therefore, the Ministry of SOEs continues to strive to improve services in the land, aviation, crossing, and services sectors from Jasa Raharja and Jasa Marga.

"We want the public to be able to celebrate Nataru as well as possible," he said.
