Deputy Minister Tiko Says PLN RUPTL Will Be Finalized In January 2025

DEPOK - Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo said that the Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) of PT PLN (Persero) will be finalized in January 2025.

Currently, he said, the RUPTL is still in process and will be finalized together with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia and the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani.

"We discussed a little about the 2024-2034 RUPTL which is currently in the process of approval. According to his plan with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bahlil, and the Minister of Finance, we will hold a final meeting in January to decide," he said at the PLN's Central Load Management Unit (UIP2B) in Depok, West Java, Thursday, December 27.

Tiko Kartika's nickname said PLN would increase the power generation capacity by 71 gigawatts (GW). Where the majority is New Renewable Energy (EBT).

"This is PLN's commitment starting in 2025 to massively start building an EBT. So we will build 71 new gigawatts of capacity in 2024 to 2034 where the majority are indeed EBT," he explained.

Furthermore, Tiko said PLN will also build a smart grid and inter-island grid between Sumatra-Java, as well as Kalimantan-Java. That way, the electricity supply in Sumatra and Kalimantan can be withdrawn to Java.

So that the capacity of the EBT in Sumatra in Kalimantan can be withdrawn to Java. So that may be the plan for the next 10 years," he said.

"Therefore, with this big plan, we will reduce energy security, then affordability for the community and sustainability," he continued.

Furthermore, Tiko also ensures that EBT electricity can be accessed by the public at affordable prices. Therefore, Tiko warned PLN to keep finances healthy.

"Well, of course, we also ensure that PLN's condition is healthy, with good financial capacity, it can build new EBT capacity and deliver electricity sustainably to the community," he said.
