Tsukuridanosu Expresses Rejection of Love in Single Maafkan Realita

JAKARTA - Tsukuridanosu, a music unit from Jakarta, released a new single, “Maafkan Realita” on December 27. The song was written by guitarist Rio and vocalist Siska.

The lyrics tell the story of a woman’s rejection of love from a man who loves her because the woman feels more comfortable if her relationship with the man is just as friends.

“This song is based on real experience. But what is clear is that it is not my experience, and I cannot tell you whose experience it is. What is clear is that the gist of the song is like that, hehehe,” said Rio in a press release received by VOI.

In the process of making “Maafkan Realita”, they were inspired by various bands and genres, such as ONE OK ROCK, L’Arc~en~Ciel, Evanescence, Utopia, and Cokelat. The band, which is strengthened by Rio (guitar), Mufti (guitar), Rizky (bass), Siska (vocals), and Hanif (drums), also created an arrangement with interesting dynamics in this song.

"When we made this (song), we were listening to those bands a lot. Especially ONE OK ROCK and L'Arc~en~Ciel, because our band is basically a Japanese band," explained Mufti.

Siska explained that "Maafkan Realita" is a continuation of the story of Tsukuridanosu's debut single titled "Want It," where the song tells the story of a man pouring out his feelings of love and affection for a woman.

The recording process for "Maafkan Realita" was carried out in Rio's private studio. Also assisted by Roby and Gita from Losers of Today for vocal work. Then the mixing and mastering process was done by Bima, or commonly known as Biruby Ruby.

"For the bass line, I had thought about making it like that from the beginning of making the demo. Inspired by Tetsuya (L'Arc~en~Ciel) so that the song arrangement would be varied, hehehe," said Rizky.

"To be honest, I myself don't know when the drum recording process was. Because every time we workshop a song, it's always recorded. Well, I don't know which drum track was used from which workshop session, and luckily the drum track used was the one I liked. This band is unique. That's the fun fact about this song," said Hanif.

Tsukuridanosu is a Japanese scene band formed on December 23, 2022 by Rio. This band from Jakarta started their musical career by performing at Japanese cultural festivals (Matsuri) and other music festivals. Running for two years, Tsukuridanosu has produced original works, namely "Want It" and " Maafkan Realita," while also heading towards the process of working on an album in 2025.

" Maafkan Realita" is already available on various digital streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Deezer.
