JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works through the Directorate General of Water Resources (SDA) supports the government's preparedness in anticipating disasters, especially floods and landslides during the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year holidays (Nataru 2024/2025).
In this case, the Directorate General of Water Resources has alerted a number of heavy equipment and flood materials scattered throughout the River Basin Center (BBWS) and River Basin Center (BWS) in Indonesia.
"SDA friends who live near rivers or mountains, during the rainy season like now, must remain alert to potential disasters such as floods and landslides," explained the Directorate General of Water Resources as quoted from its official Instagram account @pupr_sda, Friday, December 27.
The Directorate General of Natural Resources has also prepared 945 heavy equipment and 517,439 flood materials on standby during the 2024/2025 Nataru holiday.
The heavy equipment that has been alerted, namely 62 mini excavator units, 213 standard excavator units, 65 long excavator units, 55 amphibious mini long arm excavators and 11 amphibious long arm excavator units.
Then, there are 52 units of amphibious long arm standard excavators, 118 units of mobile pump, 24 units of water tankers and 72 units of rubber boats.
Next, 36 units of speedboats, 36 units of self loaders, 181 units of dump trucks and 20 units of truck trailers.
Meanwhile, for available flood materials, 153,142 gabions measuring 1 meter \times 1 meter \times 0.5 meters, 1,305 sand gabions measuring 1 meter \times 1\times 4 meters, 140,765 geobags measuring 1 meter \times 1.3 meters, 83,460 mini geobags measuring 0.5 meters \times 0.7 meters and 13,349 jumbo geobags measuring 1 meter \times 6 meters.
Then, there are 3,000 jumbo bags measuring 1 meter \times 1 meter \times 1 meter, 3,596 geoboxes measuring 1 meter \times 1 meter 4 meters, 5,457 geoboxes measuring 1 meter \times 1 meter 6 meters and 113,365 sandbags.
"The Directorate General of Natural Resources is also ready, here, Sahabat by preparing heavy equipment and flood materials that can be used at any time when the disaster emergency response is carried out," he explained.
In addition, the Directorate General of Natural Resources has also prepared a disaster task force team and disaster posts at each BBWS and BWS.
