BMKG Warning, Most Areas Of North Sulawesi Potentially Extreme Weather
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that most areas in North Sulawesi (Sulut) have the potential for extreme weather. Regencies and cities in North Sulawesi have the potential to rain with moderate or heavy intensity which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
"BMKG issued an early warning of extreme weather until December 28, 2024," said BMKG Coordinator for Observation and Information at the Sam Ratulangi Meteorological Station, Manado Ben A Molle, in Manado, Thursday, December 26. He hopes that residents will be careful if they carry out activities in extreme weather conditions because they can cause floods, landslides or fallen trees. Moderate to heavy rain of intensity which can be accompanied by lightning and strong winds on December 26, 2024 is likely to occur in Manado City, Tomohon City, Bitung City, Kotamobagu City, Minahasa Regency, North Minahasa Regency, South Minahasa Regency and Southeast Minahasa Regency. Furthermore, Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Bolaang Mongondow Regency, East Bolaang Mongondow, Sitaro Islands Regency, Sangihe Islands Regency and Talaud Regency.
