The Government Announces The Selection Of PPPK, Commission II Of The DPR Asks Private Madrasah Teachers To Also Get Attention

JAKARTA - Member of Commission II of the DPR from the PKB faction, Indrajaya welcomed the announcement of the results of the graduation of the selection of Government Employees with a Work Agreement (PPPK). Indra asked the government to also pay attention to private madrasa teachers to be able to take part in the same selection.

"The government must think about their fate. I hope that in 2025 private madrasa teachers will get a fair formation in the acceptance of PPPK or CASN," said Indrajaya, Thursday, December 26.

For information, the results of the phase I PPPK selection have been announced on Tuesday, December 24. For participants who have not passed, they are welcome to immediately follow the phase II selection which will be closed on December 31, 2024.

However, Indra regretted the smell of unpleasant smells in the 2024 PPPK recruitment. Based on information from the Ministry of PANRB, 100 percent of PPPK formations were only opened to non-ASN employees in government agencies.

"The provisions of the Ministry of PANRB disappoint and narrow the opportunities of the community outside of non-ASN applicants who are registered as working in government agencies," said Indrajaya.

According to Indra, PPPK recruitment should continue to provide formations to non-ASN applicants outside government agencies as long as they are old enough, education, and competence to take part in the selection. "PPPK and civil servants are both the professions of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN), shouldn't the opportunity to become ASN be the right of every citizen," he said.

Indra recounted the complaints from the Indonesian National Certification Teacher Forum (FGSNI) which was conveyed in an audience with the DPR RI National Awakening Party faction, December 15. Where there are more private school or madrasa teachers in Indonesia than ASN teachers, there are 10 years, 20 years of service, and more than 30 years. Most of them receive underprivileged honorariums.

They demanded that MenPANRB accommodate private madrasa teachers as a priority for PPPK recruitment, not only honorary employees who have worked in government agencies. They also demanded that the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) include them in the BKN database as a condition for PPPK registration.

"Therefore, I also hope that they will receive benefits from the President Prabowo Program which has allocated a budget for the welfare of civil servants, non-civil servants, and honorary teachers of Rp 81.6 trillion in the 2025 State Budget," he said.

The legislator from the South Papua electoral district stated that being a PPPK is the hunt for many people. This is because PPPK and civil servants both offer job stability, salary certainty, and leave even though the civil servant's employment status is a permanent employee, while PPPK is based on a work agreement.

PPPK does not have transfer rights such as civil servants, but PPPK has a career development opportunity determined by a work agreement with staffing officials in workplace agencies.

"PPPK will also receive monthly pensions such as civil servants if the working period is over 16 years, but if it is less than 16 years, everything will be given when it retires," explained Indra.

In the 2024 ASN selection, the PPPK formation reached 1,031,554 positions. This formation is part of a total of 1,280,547 ASN candidate formations. This means that only 248,993 were accepted as civil servants in 2024, even though the number of registrants reached 3.9 million people.

Indrajaya admitted that he was concerned because the low formations received were only around 1.5 percent of ASN from the total population of Indonesia. Whereas the formation of ASN revenues in other countries could be a comparison. For example, Malaysia is 2 percent, Vietnam is 2.9 percent, the Philippines is 1.9 percent, China is 2.7 percent, and South Korea is 2 percent.

"I hope that the 2025 ASN recruitment will be improved, more selective and accountable, as well as transparent and open up opportunities for every citizen who meets the requirements to apply," concluded Indra.
