Arsenal Vs Ipswich Town: No Gap Drops The Gunners

JAKARTA - Arsenal will host Ipswich Town in the 18th week of the 2024/2025 Premier League, Saturday, December 28, 2024, early morning WIB.

There is no gap for Ipswich to overthrow the Gunners. Arsenal are already unbeaten in 13 league games against Ipswich.

The last time Ipswich won was a long time ago, to be precise when they won 2-1 at Portman Road in September 1984, when Russell Osman and Romeo Zondervan scored for the win.

When it comes to winning at home to the Gunners, Ipswich did it in August 1979, when they won 2-0 at Highbury, where Allan Hunter and Arnold Muhren scored for Sir Bobby Robson's side.

Arsenal and Ipswich have also not met for a long time considering that Blue appears below the Premier League level more often.

The last time the two clashed was at the Emirates Stadium in the second leg of the English League Cup semifinals, January 25, 2011. Ipswich lost 0-3 to lose 1-3 on aggregate.

Arsenal's performance at home is also a stumbling block for Ipswich. Mikel Arteta's men were unbeaten in the last 11 Premier League games at the Emirates (eight wins and three draws).

The Gunners are the only top team still unbeaten at home this season.

Mikel Arteta's team are racing to record four consecutive clean-sheets in home league games for the first time since December 2021.

In addition, there is a static trick that Arsenal have won 18 of their last 19 Premier League games against newly promoted opponents, including the last eight games, only missing points in their 0-1 loss at Nottingham Forest in May 2023.

Arsenal's slick performance doesn't stop there. Festive season (Christmas and New Year's holidays) is also a positive period for them.

The Gunners have won three of the four matches in a four-year fiscal festive season. The only defeat came when Fulham 1-2 was beaten on New Year's Eve last year.

The series of positive statistics will obviously be a disaster for Ipswich. Moreover, they came with a record of never winning in 17 Premier League away matches against the top four since winning 1-0 against Liverpool on January 14, 1995.

Blue also only won two of the last three league away matches, having failed to win the previous 12 matches.

This season, Ipswich only did not concede once in 17 matches. The clean-sheet results were achieved against Brighton 0-0 in September 2024.

Arsenal is clearly in the wind. Moreover, Gabriel Jesus is productive. The Brazilian forward has scored five goals in his last two games for Arsenal in all competitions, just like he scored in his previous 45 appearances.

If Jesus scores, Arsenal will never lose in the Premier League (56 wins and five draws.

Losing Bukayo Saka and Raheem Sterling on the latest list of injuries, joining Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu, doesn't seem to be a problem for Arteta.
