Investigate DWP Case In Malaysia, Kompolnas: Police Opening Complaint Dec
The National Police Commission (Kompolnas) said that the National Police had opened a complaint desk regarding the alleged extortion of Malaysians by members of the police at the Djakarta Warehouse Project (DWP) at the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia.
"So, the victim who watched yesterday came to Indonesia, if you want to report, a desk is provided in Malaysia. In our opinion, this is a very progressive step," said Kompolnas member Muhammad Choirul Anam at the Police Headquarters Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 24, confiscated by Antara.
He also appealed to Malaysians who feel they are victims in this case to immediately report to the desk.
He also said that the Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General Pol. Abdul Karim has stated that the Propam Police Headquarters team is ready to be present in Malaysia to handle this case.
According to him, this is a very good step and shows the Police's commitment to resolving cases involving these 18 police officers.
"We were also confirmed by the Head of Division, one of which is if there really needs to be an examination and so on, Propam friends who come to Malaysia. They will be served first at the desk, then they will be deepened by staff here who come to Malaysia," he said.
Meanwhile, Kompolnas, he said, had listened to the full details of the structure of the incident and also the steps taken by the National Police Propam in the process of being responsible for the actions of the suspects.
"The most important thing about the commitment of the Head of the Propam Division, from the commitment of the police, is that this case wants to be completed, who is responsible for the most substantial in the structure of accountability," he said.
On the same occasion, the Head of the Propam Police Division clarified that the number of victims in this case was 45 people and the amount of evidence that was secured was Rp. 2.5 billion.

A total of 18 police officers were involved in this case. Dozens of police officers consist of Polda Metro Jaya personnel, Polres Metro Central Jakarta, and Polsek Metro Kemayoran.
The police officers, he continued, will be tried ethically next week.

Previously, there was a post on the X account @Twt_Rave, which uploaded a number of police officers suspected of arresting and extorting spectators from Malaysia at the 2024 DWP event which was held on December 13-15, 2024.
In his post, the account said that Indonesian police officers arrested and conducted sudden urine tests on spectators from Malaysia and extorted billions of money.
