Unand Professor Yakin No Politization Determination Of PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto Becomes A Suspect
JAKARTA - Professor of Political Sciences at Andalas University (Unand) Prof. Asrinaldi assessed that there was no politicization in the appointment of PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"Yes, I don't think it has anything to do with politicization. Actually, this case was indicated in advance, yes, but because at that time there might have been many considerations, PDIP as the ruling party, then Jokowi, a cadre as President, yes of course these considerations also made the KPK not independent in its work," said Prof. Asrinaldi as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, December 24.
In addition, he believes that the determination of Hasto as a suspect is a form of KPK professionalism in working.
"This also proves that President Prabowo Subianto is cleaning up all cases in the context of corruption," he said.
Previously, KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto said that Hasto's determination as a suspect was purely law enforcement.
"And I think this is part of the contents of the handover memory we received from the old official so that we just have to continue," said Setyo at the KPK building, Jakarta, Tuesday.
Setyo also said that Hasto had just been named a suspect because of the adequacy of evidence.
The determination of Hasto as a suspect is contained in the Sprin number sprindik.Dik/153/DIK.00/01/12/2024 dated December 23, 2024.

The Sprindik was signed by the new KPK leadership who has served since the handover of the position on December 20, 2024.
Dalam sprindik itu, Hasto disebut terlibat tindak pidana korupsi bersama tersangka Harun Masiku dengan memberikan hadiah atau janji kepada Anggota Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) RI Periode 2017-2022 Wahyu Setiawan terkait penetapan anggota DPR RI terpilih 2019-2024.
Then based on Sprin.Dik/152/DIK.00/01/12/2024 dated December 23, 2024, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction to the investigation of the alleged corruption case committed by Harun Masiku.
Harun Masiku is still on the wanted list (DPO) since January 17, 2020.
