Ange Postecoglou Bores Asked About His Un Successful Approach At Tottenham
JAKARTA - After Tottenham Hotspur lost 3-6 to Liverpool on December 22, 2024 at home, Ange Postecoglou has hinted that he will stop answering questions about his attacking approach.
He reiterated his intention to continue his uncompromising style despite being battered by the Reds.
These results put Spurs in 11th position in the 2024/2025 Premier League standings and have conceded 15 goals in the last six matches in all competitions.
After the match, Postecoglou was immediately flooded with questions about whether there were other factors that caused them not to concede other than injury to key players, such as goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, centre-back Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, and left-back Ben Davies and Destiny Udogie.
"You know what? I'll stop answering these questions. If people can't see what's clear, I won't show it."
"Look, just consider what you want, yes, we conceded a goal. You want to ignore the fact that we lost a goalkeeper, two centre-backs, a left-back, and not what we did."
"I don't know what to say anymore. I think people are making decisions in their own way. They think what I'm doing is good or not, and it doesn't matter," Postecoglou told BBC Sport.

The journalists were further questioned by Postecoglou regarding the possibility of a change in approach because so far the system has not gone well.
However, the 59-year-old coach again insists that he will survive with his long-term approach.
"I think I've been very patient over the past 18 months sitting here answering the same question over and over again."
"If people wanted me to change my approach, it wouldn't change. We did it for a reason. We did it because we thought it would help us to achieve success."
"People don't understand the situation we're facing right now, the challenges we face from the squad's perspective that you want as clear as you want."
"I understand that people think I should change course and somehow that will magic make us a better team."
"That's what it is. I will continue to move forward, stay focused on trying to build this team into the team we want."
"Meanwhile, we will accept that there will be challenges along the way," said the Australian coach.
Spurs have lost eight defeats and have only won seven of their 17 2024/2025 Premier League matches.
Luckily, the journey in the Europa League this season is fairly good. They are in ninth place in the standings with 11 points from three wins, two draws, and one defeat.
There is still a big chance for Spurs to walk into the knockout stages of the Europa League, either through direct pass tickets or playoffs.
The possibility of winning trophies this season is still open. Son Heung-min and colleagues qualified for the Carabao Cup semifinals.
They will next face Liverpool who have just humiliated Spurs at home in the 17th week of the Premier League.
