Rocky Gerung: Political Figures Become Volunteers Nusantara Vaccine Is A Signal Of Rebellion
JAKARTA - Political observer Rocky Gerung commented on the phenomenon of political figures who crowded into volunteer clinical trials of stage 2 Nusantara Vaccine at the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto on Wednesday, April 14.
"Finally there are two vaccines, namely the oligarch vaccine and the opposition vaccine. Because it looks although technically somewhat problematic because it re-injects blood taken from plasma and then put back in to provoke immunity it is not possible to produce individually due to differences in blood plasma", said Rocky Gerung in an interview on YouTube channel, Thursday, April 15.
According to him, the actions of several political figures are a rebellion to support the vaccine idea of the former Minister of Health, Terawan Agus Putranto.
"There is a kind of silent rebellion not to accept vaccines other than Nusantara Vaccine. That's a signal that shows that we need to be independent in vaccine research", Rocky said.
"But there is a kind of political resistance because the figures show that we use Nusantara Vaccine," he continued.
Rocky noted that the volunteerism of these figures is because China recognizes that the efficacy of the Sinovac vaccine is only about 40 percent. Then other vaccines also have problems due to dosing discrepancies and psychobiological conditions of people that cause some events.
"Indeed, we actually have to fumble what covid-19 behavior looks like. Well, we haven't researched that", he said.
According to Rocky, the government is too high to set a figure of 70 percent for all Indonesians injected with vaccines to form herd immunity. In fact, not necessarily the vaccine available can be sufficient percentage of vaccination must be national.
"Maybe 30 percent is enough because we ourselves do not know how our body, our immunity. So the old research may actually be 20 percent injected already finished, but the government can always suggest that all should be injected at least 70-80 percent", he explained.
"Now there is a problem the number of vaccines is reduced then how is the story? At least one more month is exhausted, meaning that being injected once is useless. That's going to be in the trap of the second round and even the third round of the vaccine," Rocky added.
Rocky assessed, political figures who oppose receiving the Nusantara vaccine are a signal that they no longer believe in government policy.
"So he wants to say stop consuming vaccine (import, red) but use Nusantara Vaccine. But I didn't tell the Press. This is a vaccine wrapped in politics", he said.
Rocky admits there is a political dimension in the willingness to support the Nusantara Vaccine. One of them is a kind of aggravation to the government because it always wants to monopolize information, monopolize transactions, and monopolize diplomacy.
"Now there is the politics against through vaccination. So live vaccine in opisisi! (opposing party in the assembly)", said Rocky Gerung.
