Gold Opportunities In Front Of Oleksandr Usyk's Eyes

JAKARTA - Heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk has a golden opportunity in sight to become the third undisputed world champion in his career after stopping Tyson Fury.

Alex Krassyuk as Usyk promoter said that he wanted it to happen after the victory over Fury in Riyadh, Arab Suadi, on Sunday, December 22, 2024.

"I want Oleksandr Usyk to be the undisputed fighter for the third time," he told FightHub, as quoted by Boxing Scene.

Usyk defended his WBA, WBC, and WBO belts by stopping Fury in a rematch that lasted 12 rounds and ended in an absolute number victory.

Earlier in May 2024, Usyk defeated his England opponent to become the undisputed world champion in the heavyweights since Lennox Lewis did so in 1999.

It was the second undisputed world champion in the Ukraine fighter's career. He secured one other undisputed title while still fighting in cruiserweight.

The rematch against Fury has no longer won the status of world champion is undeniable. You see, Usyk has removed the IBF belt which is currently in Daniel Dubois' hands.

Dubois then underwent a fight to defend the belt for the first time by fighting Anthony Joshua in September 2024 at Wembley Stadium, England.

He will next guard the belt by challenging New Zealand champion Joseph Parker. The fight will take place in Riyadh on February 22, 2025.

If he wins, Dubois can continue with the clash of winning the undisputed world champion status against Usyk, which could possibly happen by the end of 2025.

Krassyuk said that Usyk's duel against Dubois was the fight he wanted. However, he prefers Usyk to fight Parker.

"It's not that I don't respect Daniel. However, I consider Joseph Parker's skills to be higher than Daniel," he said.

Usyk and Dubois have previously fought in August 2023. Usyk won by knockout in the fight before two straight wins over Fury.
