Two Directors Of PT RBT Sentenced To 8 And 5 Years In The Tin Corruption Case

The panel of judges found the defendants Suparta and Reza Andriyansya guilty in the corruption case in the management of tin commodity trading. They are the President Director, and Development Director of PT Refined Bangka Tin (RBT).

For the defendant Suparta, the panel of judges sentenced him to 8 years in prison. In addition, he was sentenced to a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.

"The defendant Harvey Moeis has been sentenced to 8 years in prison minus the length of time the defendant is in detention with an order to remain in detention," said the judge during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Monday, December 23.

In its ruling, the panel of judges also ordered Suparta to pay compensation of Rp4,571,438,592,562.56 (Rp4.57 trillion). With the vulnerability of time no later than one month after the court's decision has permanent legal force.

If the defendant does not pay the replacement money, then his property will be confiscated by the prosecutor. Then auctioned off to pay the replacement money.

Meanwhile, if the defendant does not have sufficient assets, the defendant will be sentenced to 6 years in prison.

For the Director of Development of PT RBT, Reza Andriyansyah, he was sentenced to five years in prison. Then, he was also sanctioned with a fine of Rp. 750 million, a subsidiary of 3 months.

"The defendant was sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of Rp. 750 million, subsidiary to 3 months in prison," said the judge.
