Challenge Mercedes Benz And BMW Dominations, Nio Launches ET9 Luxury Sedan

JAKARTA - The dominance of Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi in the sedan segment has begun to be glimpsed by many car manufacturers, including Nio, which officially launched the ET9 sedan.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Monday, December 23, the well-known Chinese producer launched ET9 at the Nio Day 2024 event which took place in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, last Saturday, December 23.

This electric car is priced starting from 788,000 yuan or around Rp. 1.74 billion, including batteries, this price is lower than the pre-sales that were carried out a year ago, which touched 800,000 yuan (Rp1.77 billion).

At the same time, Nio also offered a limited edition of ET9 with only 999 units priced at 818,000 yuan or around Rp1.81 billion, and this limited edition shipment will be prioritized and take place in March 2025.

This electric car is claimed by Nio as the peak of innovation in attendance for 10 years, and as a luxury sedan this car is equipped with a myriad of modern technology.

In dimensions, ET9 is a four-seater car with a very large dimension, namely a length of 5,325 mm, a width of 2,017 mm, and a height of 1,621 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,250 mm. Interestingly, this is the first model to feature the Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chip based on Nio's 5 nm process launched last year.

One of the largest selling points of ET9 is SkyRide's intelligent chassis system, which Nio says is the world's first fully active integrated hidraulic suspension. ET9 builds on the ultra-high voltage platform 925 V, resulting in better energy performance and faster charging speed. The car is equipped with a 100 kWh battery capable of traveling a range of 659 km in CLTC counts.

This model is embedded with a dual electric motor with a peak power of 180 kW in front and 340 kW behind. The powertrain has a maximum power of 520 kW and a peak torque of 700 Nm, which allows vehicles to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour in 4.3 seconds.
