3,766 Families Affected By NTB Dompu Floods, BNPB: Assistance For Basic Needs Becomes Urgent Needs

NTB - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) stated that basic needs assistance is an urgent need for flood victims in Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari said the basic needs needed were as reported by a joint team in Dompu Regency in the form of ready-to-eat food, blankets, and cleaning equipment.

"Everything is needed, including to accelerate the recovery of affected areas," he said in his statement, Monday, December 23, which was confiscated by Antara.

BNPB confirmed that a total of 3,766 heads of families (KK) were victims of flooding due to the high intensity of rain in Dompu Regency in the last four days or since Thursday 19 December night.

The affected victims included residents of Wawonduru Village, Baka Jaya, Matua, Simpasai, Kladai Dua, in the administrative area of Woja District. Then in Dompu District in Dorr Bara Village, Mbawo, Monta Baru, to Potu Village, Bada, Karijawa and Bali Village One.

According to him, some of the affected victims fled to occupy mosque buildings, school buildings, and multipurpose buildings belonging to the Dompu Regency Government (Pemkab) to date.

Meanwhile, some other victims were reported to have started cleaning up flood materials that inundated their homes, one of which was a resident of Wawodoru Village in Woja District.

For this incident, he said, the results of the latest data collection carried out by the Dompu Regency BPBD rapid reaction team revealed that a total of 2,396 houses were affected, including two houses that were lightly damaged and one heavily damaged.
