Harvey Moeis Jalani Sidang Vonis Kasus Korupsi Timah Hari Ini

JAKARTA The defendant Harvey Moeis is scheduled to undergo a verdict reading hearing related to the alleged tin corruption case which caused state losses of Rp. 300 trillion, Monday, December 23.

The trial for reading this decision was held at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court, precisely in the room of Prof. Dr. H. Muhammad Hatta Ali, at around 10.20 WIB.

The Case Investigation Information System (SIPP) of the Central Jakarta District Court stated that the agenda for the trial was for reading the verdict.

In this case, Harvey Moeis was previously sentenced to 12 years in prison by the Public Prosecutor (JPU). He was declared proven guilty of a criminal act of corruption that significantly harmed state finances.

"The defendant Harvey Moeis has been sentenced to 12 years in prison, reduced to a prison term, with orders to remain detained," the prosecutor said in his charge.

In addition to imprisonment, Harvey is also required to pay a fine of Rp. 1 billion. If the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for one year.

Prosecutors also demanded that Harvey pay a replacement money of Rp210 billion. If the replacement money is not paid within one month after the inkrah decision, Harvey's property will be confiscated and auctioned off to cover the obligation. If the property is not sufficient, a six-year prison sentence will be in place instead.

Harvey was charged with violating Article 2 paragraph (1) jo. Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code, as well as Article 3 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU) jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.

This trial is in the public spotlight, given the amount of state losses caused in this case and the status of Harvey Moeis as the husband of celebrity Sandra Dewi.
