Thousands Of Former Members Of Jamaah Islamiyah Declaration Of Disbandment In Solo
SOLO - Thousands of former members of Jamaah Islamiyah from Surakarta, Kedu, and Semarang incidents declared their disbandment in Solo, Central Java, Saturday.
One of the declarations read out together was to support (sami'na wa atho'na) the disbandment of Al-Jamaaj Al-Islamiyah in Bogor, West Java, on June 30, 2024.
In addition, in the declaration, around 1,400 representatives of former members of Jamaah Islamiyah were ready to return to the lap of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) and were actively involved in filling in independence and keeping themselves away from extreme understandings and groups or tatharruf.
They also stated that they are ready to follow the applicable legal regulations in the Republic of Indonesia, and are committed and consistent in carrying out things that are logical consequences.

The Head of the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror Police Inspector General of Police Sentot Prasetyo appreciated the figures who had been dedicated to inviting former members of Jamaah Islamiyah to do the real jihad, namely defending the nation and state.
"Together with this, we have socialized the dissolution of Jamaah Islamiyah at various points throughout Indonesia. We have witnessed that they have shown their commitment to fully return to the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
Sentot said the declaration not only gave a deep meaning to their commitment, but also became a real symbol of the synergy between the government and society to care for the unity and integrity of the state and nation.
"The activities that we carried out today are not just ceremonial reading the pledge to return to the Republic of Indonesia, but also this activity is clear evidence that the state is present and with open arms welcomes the return of those who are an important part of our beloved Indonesia," he said.
He added that with this declaration, former members of Jamaah Islamiyah came with a sincere heart and pledged to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia to participate in developing the country.
"Everyone has a past, as do our brothers and sisters who are former members of Jamaah Islamiyah. They have suffered consequences for the wrong journey in the past, including in the legal process. More importantly, through the process of reflection and awareness so that they then find the true truth," he said.
The declaration of disbandment was also attended by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf, Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Plt. Deputy for Education Quality Improvement and Religious Moderation of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture Warsito, Head of BNPT Inspector General of Police Eddy Hartono, and Acting Governor of Central Java Nana Sudjana.
