Residents Of Kebon Blank Now Enjoy PAM Water Service After Waiting 38 Years

PAM Jaya presents piped drinking water services in the area of RW 04 to RW 09, Kebon Blank Village, Kemayoran District, Central Jakarta.

This moment was memorable for the President Director of PAM Jaya, Arief Nasrudin, who knows that residents have been buying cart water for 38 years or using groundwater.

"We entered, three decades (ultimately, ed.) succeeded in lobbying the Kemayoran Complex Management Center (PPK)," said Arief in a written statement, Saturday, December 21, 2024.

Arief explained that the installation of network pipes had started on September 1, 2023, with 20 houses whose water had flowed. Meanwhile, others will continue to be carried out in stages and are targeted for completion in 2024.

"To maximize the supply of water to customers' homes, PAM Jaya also builds water reservoirs with a capacity of 200 cubic meters in the Kebon Blank area, Kemayoran," he said.

Furthermore, Arief agrees that a number of obstacles and challenges are still encountered to achieve the 100 percent clean water target by 2030. Moreover, piped water is still very small in use in Indonesia, including Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the Head of RW 04, Sardjono, also appreciated the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Jakarta through PAM Jaya providing water services in its area. You see, so far people have always bought cart water and groundwater for their daily needs.

"We are trying to ask for PAM water from 1992. Until now it has only been implemented. So far, we have bought it from carts. If it is for bathing, use ground water," said Sardjono.

"We thank the President Director of PAM Jaya for entering our area," he said.

The need for a drinking water piping network in the Kebon Blank Village area RW 04 to RW 09 totals 2,119 house connections (SR) in the following detail.
