Godfrey Gao, Actor And Model From Taiwan Dies

JAKARTA - The actor and model from Taiwan, Godfrey Gao, passed away on Wednesday, November 27, China time. Gao was pronounced dead after collapsing in the middle of filming a television show in the Land of the Bamboo Curtain, Chase Me. This news was confirmed by JetStar Entertainment as the agency via messages on Weibo.

Gao reportedly fainted at around two in the morning. After being taken to the hospital, Mr. Gao could not be saved. Some people who looked directly at the filming set said that Mr. Gao's heart stopped beating a few minutes before being taken to the hospital.

Gao is a man of Taiwanese and Canadian blood. He is listed as the first Taiwanese model for the Louis Vuitton fashion brand. Not only a career in his country, Gao has made his international debut through acting in the film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones in 2013.

He also starred in the film Wedding Bible with Korean actress Yoo In-na and God of War, Zhao Yun with Yoona. During the evacuation process, Chase Me's crew and event staff always helped Gao until he died.

Gao's passing made fans question the safety procedures involved in the event. This has made several fan accounts that have talked about Chase Me back in popularity because several celebrities had expressed their discomfort when shooting a variety series that focused on physical tasks for the contestants.
