Kemenpar Records Potential Foreign Exchange Value 2024 Capai IDR 25.4 Trillion
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) has recorded a potential foreign exchange value of IDR 25.4 trillion from a number of marketing activities throughout 2024, both domestic and foreign.
"Marketing is a key factor in the Indonesian tourism industry, through effective promotions, Indonesian tourism is increasingly known to the world," said Tourism Minister (Menpar) Widiyanti Putri Wardhana quoting Antara.
The marketing activities include participation in 32 exhibitions or tourism exchanges, 31 fam trips, 16 integrated cooperation, and 28 sales mission.
Several tourism exhibitions participated include Berlin Internationale Tourismus Borse (ITB) on March 5-7, 2024 with foreign exchange potential of IDR 8 trillion, World Travel Market (WTM) London on November 5-7, 2024 with foreign exchange potential of IDR 8.1 trillion, to ATM Dubai on May 6-9, 2024 with foreign exchange potential of IDR 1.03 trillion.
Menpar Widiyanti said digital amplification was also carried out to publish major campaigns such as branding or imaging of Wanderful Indonesia, Kep the Wonder', and #diIndonesiaAja.
Innovative programs such as the Indonesian Food Startup (FSI) and the Indonesian Restaurant Fundraising (IndoStar) said Menpar Widiyanti participated in having a significant impact on culinary development, which is the attraction of tourists.
It was recorded that the realization and potential capital disbursed through FSI amounted to Rp76.5 billion, while IndoStar reached Rp7.65 billion.
People's Business Credit (KUR) also plays an important role in efforts to support the development of the tourism industry with financing realization of Rp195.31 trillion, KreatIPO of Rp1.25 trillion, FIFTY of Rp10.9 billion, and Islamic Creative Economy Founders Fund (ICEFF) of Rp22.2 billion.
"Programs such as KreatIPO and FIFTY provide innovative access to financing, while ICEFF strengthens Indonesia's position through a sustainable sharia economy," said Menpar.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Tourism has succeeded in making other proud achievements, one of which is in developing tourist villages in Indonesia.
Through the Ministry of Tourism's flagship program, the Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) created the 50 best tourist villages that complement the Tourism Village Network (Jadesta) which now has 6,067 members of tourist villages.
Not only that, in the 2020-2024 period, as many as 40 tourist villages managed to obtain certification of sustainable tourism villages.
At the international level, Jatiluwih Tourism Village, Bali and Wukirsari Tourism Village, DI Yogyakarta won an award from the United Nations World Tourism Organization, UN Tourism, as Best Tourism Villages by UN Tourism 2024".
"This indicates our commitment to encouraging tourism development, which not only prioritizes beauty, but also preserves the environment and long-term sustainability," said Menpar Widiyanti.
The development of five Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP) including Lake Toba, Borobudur, Labuan Bajo, Mandalika, and Likupang, also contributed to the visits of domestic tourists (wisnus) and foreign tourists (tourists) throughout 2024.
In addition to developing destinations, the Ministry of Tourism has also succeeded in providing and preparing Tourism Human Resources from six Tourism Polytechnics (Poltekpar) in Indonesia, of which 2,781 graduates are ready to enter the world of work. In addition, 2,620 people obtained tourism competency certification.
The graduates came from Poltekpar Bali as many as 656 people, Poltekpar Lombok 271 people, Poltekpar Palembang 239 people, Poltekpar Makassar 561 people, Poltekpar Medan 444 people, and Poltekpar NHI Bandung 610 people.
"Their presence will strengthen the quality of Indonesia's tourism workforce, as well as build global competitiveness in this sector," said Menpar Widiyanti.
