Ukrainian Troops Withdrawn From Uspenivka Donetsk

JAKARTA - The Ukrainian military said its troops withdrew from the area around the villages of Uspenivka and Trudove in the eastern region of Donetsk to avoid a siege by Russian troops moving forward.

With the war now entering its 33rd month, Ukrainian troops engaged in intense fighting and were in a limited position as Russia continued to advance along the front lines.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander has decided to withdraw Ukrainian Defense Forces units from the region to avoid siege, Ukraine's Khortytsia troop group said via Telegram.

Military units avoid siege and will continue to operate in the Kurakhove-Constantinopolske region.

Ukraine's General Staff reported 18 battles on the Kurakhove front in the past day with Russian troops trying to advance north of the city.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said its troops had taken control of two more settlements in the Donetsk region, Uspenivka and Novopustynka. They claimed control of Trudove on Wednesday.
