Clashes In Kebon Kacang, Residents Consider The Attitude Of Arrogant Project Workers

JAKARTA - One of the residents of Kebon Kacang, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta revealed that the commotion that occurred in the vacant land was suspected to be due to revenge, because the land cultivation project did not involve local residents.

"This land has been empty for decades, it used to be safe when the residents here were still holding it, the natives of Tanah Abang, there was no commotion. But after that person (the land guard) died, they entered (monitoring)," said one of the VOI sources, Friday, December 20.

According to information, when the land guard had changed, there began to be a commotion with local residents. Especially when entering heavy equipment for land clearing.

"Every night the land project truck that transports the debris often passes here. Residents here are not accommodated, not involved, so they feel they are not appreciated, so there was a peak yesterday," he said.

The breakdown of clashes between residents of Kebon Kacang and land project workers that led to death on Tuesday night, December 17, occurred spontaneously.

VOI sources also said that the group from the land guard camp was also in large quantities in the land area. However, when the commotion ended, the land guard group fled.

Meanwhile, the victims who died were foremans or backo operators who worked at the scene.

"The victim just woke up and was immediately stabbed. The info was that his leg was broken. If the noisy group had run away," he said.

Before the peak of the commotion broke out, residents considered the land guard groups to be very arrogant towards residents around the location.

"There are no manners for them, with local residents," he regretted.

Currently, the fence wall and the main entrance gate to the blue project area on Jalan Kebon Kacang 29, Tanah Abang, are still attached to the police line.

Police lines are installed about 30 meters long on the fence of the area in front of the land. Based on VOI's monitoring at the scene, conditions still look deserted without any activity.
