H-7 Ahead Of The Christmas Holiday, Jasa Marga Records 152 Thousand Vehicles Leaving Jabotabek

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk. noted that 152,253 vehicles had left the Jabotabek area on D-7 Christmas 2024 celebrations or on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head Lisye Octaviana said the figure was the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four Main Toll Gates (GT).

The four GTs are GT Cikupa (to Merak), GT Ciawi (to Puncak), GT Cikampek Utama (to Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (to Bandung).

The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 13.9 percent compared to the normal traffic of 133,725 vehicles in the same period. When compared to the Christmas 2023 period, the total volume of this traffic decreased by 2.5 percent, 156,080 vehicles," he said in an official statement, Friday, December 20.

Lisye said that the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek for the three directions was the majority of 63,202 vehicles or 41.5 percent headed East, namely Trans Java and Bandung.

Then, as many as 53,256 vehicles or 35.0 percent headed for the West (Merak), and 35,795 vehicles or 23.5 percent headed for the South (Puncak), "he explained.

The details, continued Lisye, traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 31,270 vehicles, an increase of 19.4 percent from normal traffic.

Meanwhile, traffic leaving Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 31,932 vehicles, increased by 18.9 percent from normal traffic.

"The total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs is 63,202 vehicles, an increase of 19.1 percent from normal traffic," he said.

Then, continued Lisye, traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak through the Cikupa GT Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was 53,256 vehicles, an increase of 10.5 percent from normal traffic.

Meanwhile, he continued, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek heading towards Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 35,795 vehicles, an increase of 10.2 percent from normal traffic.

Lisye also appealed to road users to avoid travel at the predicted time to become the peak time which is divided into two days, namely the flow of homecoming on Saturday, December 21, 2024 for the Christmas period and Saturday, December 28, 2024 for the New Year period.

"Meanwhile, the peak of backflow is on Sunday, December 29, 2024 for the Christmas period and Wednesday, January 1, 2025 for the New Year period which aims to avoid accumulation of vehicles," said Lisye.
