Audi FAW Joint Venture Plant Starts Production Of Electric Cars, Capai Annual Capai Capai 150,000 Units

JAKARTA - Audi FAW NEV, a joint venture between Audi and FAW Group announced the start of car production at its factories, as well as marking the important milestone of Audi in China's electrification segment.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Thursday, December 19, the production of the car will start from the Audi Q6L e-tron, followed by the Audi A6 e-tron for the Chinese market.

China's first Audi production site for its electricity segment is located in Changchun, Jilin, the plant is planned to have an annual production capacity of more than 150,000 cars.

"In the future, about 50 percent of suppliers for cars will be located within a 30 meter radius of the new production site," said Audi FAW.

The Chinese brand also revealed that the local government had planned an exclusive industrial area for the joint venture, targeting 90 percent of its suppliers to come from within the country (China).

Previously in 2020 FAW and Audi signed a joint venture agreement, both of them committed to jointly producing premium electric vehicles for the Chinese market.

Indeed, currently the development of environmentally friendly vehicles or New Energy Vehicles (NEV) in China is very fast, not only the premium segment, there are also many middle and lower segments that are presented.
