NVIDIA CEO Introduces Small AI Computer To Develop Robotics

JAKARTA NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang introduced the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) supercomputer that supports the creation of robotics. The device, named Jetson Orin Nano, was released on 17 December.

In the 2-minute video uploaded on NVIDIA's YouTube channel, Huang shows that Jetson Orin Nano has a very compact size and can go into your hand. Although small, the energy offered is quite large.

This device offers a computing performance of 67 INT8 TOPS with an increase in bandwidth of up to 102GB/s. In terms of power, Jetson Orin Nano only issued 25W even though this device was used to develop various robot models.

Huang explained that this small device can create robots with AI power. Companies and AI developers can also use this device to create a Large Language Model (LLM) chatbot, a visual AI agent, or computer vision.

"(Jetson Nano) runs everything HGX does, even runs a big language model. It also runs CUDA and CUDAN," Huang said. "You can use it for robots, you can use it for workstation. It's an amazing computer."

Jetson has high performance as it runs some NVIDIA AI software, including Isaac for robotics, Metropolis for vision AI, and Holoscan for time processing. The device also offers the Omniverse Replicator to create synthetic data.

If you want to perfect the AI model that has been trained from the NGC catalog, this device also supports TAO Toolkit. With some offers NVIDIA provides on Jetson Orin Nano, companies or developers can make robotics efficiently.

Jetson Orin Nano is priced at US$249 or around Rp. 4 million. As a form of NVIDIA's sustainability commitment in advancing AI and robotics technology, the capabilities of this device have been maximized with the support of Jetson's ecosystem partners.
