KPK Visits PDIP And PPP Offices, Encourages SIPP Implementation

JAKARTA - Officials of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) visited two party offices, namely DPP PDI Perjuangan and DPP Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP).

This visit was conducted by the Ministry of Education and Community Participation kpk to discuss the implementation of the Political Party Integrity System (SIPP).

Acting Deputy for Education and Community Participation Wawan Wardiana said that the political practice of money is relatively rampant in politics in the country. This is the result of studies and surveys conducted by kpk in recent years.

"That in general political parties still need to improve their internal management," Wawan said in his written statement, Wednesday, April 14.

KPK, he continued, understands the issue of funding is one of the party's problems. Thus, it continues to encourage increased party funding derived from the state budget.

"Even so, the KPK also wants political parties not only to receive funds, but to be willing to change themselves. It is in this context that the KPK encourages the implementation of party integrity through this SIPP," wawan said.

Related to SIPP, he said, this has been based on the results of kpk and LIPI studies in 2016 to 2017. Through the study there are five findings of the main problems that cause low party integrity, namely no standards of party ethics and politicians, a recruitment system that has not been standardized, a cadreization system that has not been tiered and has not been institutionalized, still low management and reporting of party funding, and the establishment of internal party democracy.

Completing Wawan's statement, Director of Community Participation Development KPK Kumbul Kusdwijanto Sudjadi said the implementation of SIPP is expected to be a solution to the five internal problems of the party. In SIPP, said Kumbul, there are five main components plus 19 variables and 48 indicators covered by the Tools of Assessment (ToA).

"We ask that political parties commit to fill the Tools of Assessment (ToA) contained in the Political Party Integrity System (SIPP). To do this, the party formed a team of at least five people who served in the filling of ToA. We ask that one person from the team be appointed as Liaison Officer (LO) to be the PIC who will always communicate with us," said Kumbul.

Meanwhile, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said his party supports the KPK to encourage the improvement of the political system in Indonesia. It will continue to support the KPK and efforts to eradicate corruption, and will prepare for the filling of ToA.

"PDIP has a historical responsibility to support the KPK and efforts to eradicate corruption. We will prepare to fill the toa self-assessment in SIPP as best we can. The rules and ethics of the party are carried out with these commitments," hasto said.

The same was also conveyed by PPP Secretary General Arwani Thomafi. The party with the symbol of the Kaaba supports the implementation of SIPP and invites the KPK to cooperate in other corruption prevention efforts. One of them, by inviting kpk as a resource person in ppp political school.

"We support the SIPP program to run optimally. We need to work together on how to make it easier for the party to meet these five SIPP principles," he concluded.
