Announcement, 450 VA Customers No Longer Get Free Electricity Subsidy From PLN
JAKARTA - The government officially extended the electricity subsidy stimulus for households and small and medium-sized industries until June 2021. However, it is no longer given for free because from April to June 2021 there are costs that must be incurred by customers.
EVP ATS PT PLN (Persero) Tohari Hadiat said in providing electricity subsidies for people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the new scheme provides electricity discounts of 50 percent for the 450 VA group from the previous 100 percent aka free.
Then, continued Tohari, for household customers of the 900 VA subdivision get a 25 percent electricity discount from the previous 50 percent.
"For the second quarter there has been a decision from the government issued, in which the core decision of all customers who received stimulus in the period 2020 and the first quarter, the value of which is 50 percent given in the second quarter," he said in a virtual discussion, Wednesday, April 14.
Related to the changes in the subsidy scheme, said Tohari, PLN also made some preparations. First calculate the number of customer accounts that get subsidies. Second, socialize to the community.
Furthermore, Tohari said, PLN since this month has been socializing to customers and explained that the provision of electricity subsidies has been reduced by the government.
"So indeed we immediately focus on customers who get this discount one-on-one (visited) while friends (officers) read the meter carry a letter, for example the fathers starting this month the bill account to the government is given this but the value becomes 50 percent," he said.
Tohari said, customers who get subsidies in the second quarter is the same amount as the subsidy in the first quarter.
"Relatively fixed, there may be slight additions. There may be people who are new pairs or groups in the category of eligible to receive subsidies. But not how only the value of the rupiah may be reduced. If the first quarter, Rp4.6 trillion budget, the second quarter half rp2.3 trillion," he said.
