5 Locations In Jakarta Searched For Evidence Related To Alleged Corruption Of IDR 150 Billion In Disbud DKI

The Jakarta Capital High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati DKI) conducted searches in five locations related to alleged corruption at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Culture Office. This search was carried out following findings of indications of irregularities in budget management in 2023 amounting to Rp150 billion.

Head of the Legal Information Section (Kasi Penkum) of the DKI Jakarta Prosecutor's Office, Syahron Hasibuan, revealed that the process of collecting data and information materials had been carried out since November 2024. The alleged deviation was finally raised to the investigation stage on December 17, 2024.

"In November 2024, we began collecting data related to alleged budget irregularities in a number of activities financed by the Culture Service. Based on the initial examination, there were strong indications of corruption that caused state financial losses," Syahron told the media on Wednesday, December 18.

The Special Crime Investigation Team of the DKI Jakarta Prosecutor's Office conducted searches in five locations suspected of being related to this case, namely the DKI Jakarta Provincial Culture Office on Jalan Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, the GR-Pro event organizer Office in the Duren Tiga area, South Jakarta, the private home of a number of Cultural Service officials in South Jakarta, locations in West Jakarta, and locations in East Jakarta.

During the search, investigators confiscated a number of evidences, including several units of laptops, cellphones, computers, flash drives, important documents, and cash. These items will be examined further forensicly to investigate allegations of corruption and identify the flow of funds involved.

"This confiscation aims to strengthen the evidence we have found. All evidence will be analyzed to ensure the relationship between the parties suspected of being involved in this case," explained Syahron.

This allegation of corruption is related to the management of funds amounting to Rp150 billion allocated for various activities at the DKI Jakarta Culture Office in the 2023 fiscal year. Investigators found indications of irregularities in the procurement process, implementation of activities, and budget accountability reports.

According to preliminary information, the deviation includes fictitious activities supported by fake documents to disburse the budget. One of the striking findings is the use of fake stamps to create an impression as if the activity had been carried out.

"This fake stamp is used to support activity reports that have never actually been implemented. This mode allows the budget to be disbursed without the implementation of real activities," added Syahron.

The DKI Prosecutor's Office emphasized that this investigation is still in its early stages and does not rule out the possibility that new suspects will be revealed along with the collection of additional evidence.

"We will continue to explore this case, including the possibility of other parties being involved, both in the government and in the private sector," said Syahron.

The Attorney General's Office also emphasized its commitment to resolve this case in order to maintain accountability in budget management in government agencies.

"This case is a reminder that transparency and integrity in budget management must always be upheld. The DKI Attorney General's Office will take firm action against anyone who is proven to be involved," he concluded.

This alleged corruption case is in the public spotlight because it involves large funds that should be used to advance culture in the capital city. The public hopes that the DKI Attorney General's Office can immediately complete the investigation and take action against the responsible perpetrators.
