Debate Leaker On IPhone Camera Design 17: Horizontal Or Triangular?
JAKARTA Two trusted leakers (mbokers) are having disagreements over the design of the camera module on the iPhone 17. One side claims that the iPhone 17 Pro will use a horizontal layout that resembles the Dynamic Island shape, while others insist that even though the camera module design changes, the camera array retains a triangular pattern.
Weibo users, Digital Chat Station, posted an iPhone 17 camera module design renderout that features three horizontally aligned lenses in a camera module blades with curved ends. Although this image is just an illustration, they said that the iPhone 17 "would indeed use this design."
Digital Chat Station has an accurate track record, such as predicting telephoto lenses on the iPhone 16 Pro (previously exclusive for the iPhone 15 Pro Max) and an increase in the size of the main sensor on the iPhone this year.
However, the Digital Instant leaker, which previously leaked yellow on the iPhone 14 and horizontal front camera on the latest iPad Air, denied this claim.
"My source said that the back view did change, but the layout of the three cameras remains triangular, not horizontal blades like those circulating on the internet," said Instant Digital. Unfortunately, they did not provide further details about the design change.
In its analysis, 9to5Mac stated that horizontal layouts have several aspects that make no sense.

"Most photos and videos are taken in landscape mode, so the vertical layout of the camera is aligned when the phone is held horizontally makes more sense," they wrote.
However, this dispute presents challenges in predicting Apple's plans based on supply chain sources. Apple often experiments with various concepts and may ask suppliers to make component samples that are ultimately unused. In fact, it is not uncommon for Apple to intentionally provide misleading information to cover up its original plans.
With the speculation that has emerged, the iPhone 17 camera design is still a mystery until Apple officially discloses it.
