Deddy Corbuzier Explains Why Azka Corbuzier Hasn't Converted Like Himself
JAKARTA - This year Deddy Corbuzier fasted for the second time after converting. Many have questioned Azka Corbuzier's religion before. Because besides Deddy, the mother, Kalina Oktarani is also a Muslim.
Deddy once explained that his son does not necessarily follow the religion he adheres to today. While talking with Habib Husein Ja'far Al Hadar on Cahaya Untuk Indonesia YouTube channel, he recounted his experience of converting to Islam which had been opposed by his family.
"My mama is 85 years old, when I say I want to convert yes it's up to me. Well, the big family that uncle, cousin worried later I ugly religion before. I love the explanation enggak maybe so. And after some time of converting, the family is relieved because it is not what they were worried about," Deddy was quoted as saying Thursday, April 14.
About Azka, Deddy admits there is a desire for his son to convert to Islam. But Deddy insists he will not rule out which way the son will lead a religious life.
"If Habib asked him want, yes want. But I learned a long time ago. I'm from a convert not because I was told to. I converted because I met friends who are positive of Islam," said Deddy.
"He's only 14 years old, aqil baligh also not. Later he can model himself. Compared to me authoritarian, I used to if digituin also definitely avoid," continued Deddy.
As a father, Deddy Corbuzier worries that Azka is receiving misinformation about Islam. "This is what I worry about, the large intake of Islam that is not Islamic. The child finally saw how Islam taught kill, kok nabrak dog, directly antipathy dong. This is the problem," Deddy Corbuzier said.
