JAKARTA - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Zainudin Amali accompanied President Joko Widodo to the hearing of Mandalika Racing Team Indonesia (MRTI) and the Board of Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 14.
Attending the meeting were Chairman of IMI Bambang Soesatyo, Secretary General of IMI Ahmad Syahroni, and Vice Chairman of IMI Rifat Sungkar. In addition to accompanying the President to the audience with IMI, The Minister of Amali also reported the development of the 2021 Menpora Cup competition.
"I reported to him about the implementation of the pre-season competition and it turned out that he monitored also even watching on TV," said Menpora Amali.
According to him, President Jokowi appreciated the title of Piara Menpora, because Indonesian football supporters and fans are very obedient to the urge not to come to the stadium.
However, the President gave input so that the League 1 and League 2 competitions were prepared carefully. "He instructed me earlier for League 1 and League 2 to be well prepared," he explained.
Meanwhile, after the meeting, Vice Chairman of IMI Rifat Sungkar expressed his audience with President Jokowi for the introduction of the new IMI board.
In this meeting also discussed a number of things, including efforts to legalize vehicle modification, acceleration of electric fuel transition, tourism promotion, environment and CSR decay involving the community.
"This is a very good introductory agenda for us, because the entire ranks participated and Mr. President himself welcomed the positive," Rifat said.
He explained that IMI has 1400 racing events in one year. With the many events, said Rifat, President Jokowi hopes to boost the economy in the region.
"This is not a matter of racing but also driving the Indonesian economy in each racing location," rifat said.
Rifat also appealed to the President, his party participated in promoting road safety or safety in driving. Where this action involves the Police Korlantas and also the Ministry of Transportation.
