Expanding Employment, State Hands Over Rp6.1 Trillion Of Chocolate Plantation Assets To Manokwari Government
JAKARTA - The government through the Directorate General of State Wealth (DJKN) of the Ministry of Finance conducted the Handover of Assets management of the Former Cooperation Foundation for Irian Jaya Development (The Irian Jaya Joint Development Foundation /IJJDF) with a value of Rp6.1 trillion to the Government of South Manokwari Regency.
The asset is located in Ransiki Village, Ransiki District, South Manokwari Regency, in the form of a brown plantation with an area of 4,093 hectares.
Director General of State Wealth Rionald Silaban said the existence of the plantation can open jobs for local residents, thus providing a multiplier effect for regional economic growth.
According to him, South Manokwari Regency can use it to build government facilities and public facilities for the community.
"The strengthening of the status of ex-IJJDF assets is not only the embodiment of optimal and accountable asset management. This is an example of synergy between the central and local governments in terms of optimal asset management and high value," he said after signing the agreement at djkn Jakarta Head Office, Wednesday, April 14.
Rionald added, the management and administration measures of regional property (BMD) must be carried out in accordance with applicable regulations.
He hopes that South Manokwari Regency can soon grow into an advanced area and able to prosper its population and this synergy can continue to be maintained for the betterment of the nation.
On the same occasion, South Manokwari Regent Markus Warrant expressed gratitude for the disqualification of ex-IJJDF assets to the South Manokwari Regency.
"We are happy and grateful, this plantation is very influential because it opens jobs including those of us who get money from the plantation to pay for education costs," he said.
Also present on the occasion were Director of State Wealth Management and Information System Purnama T. Sianturi, Head of Subdirectory of PKN III Swastiko Purnomo, and Head of BPKAD Manokwari Selatan, Frengki Mandacan.
VOI noted that until the end of 2019 the total value of state assets amounted to Rp10,467.53 trillion. The figure consists of current assets of Rp491.86 trillion, long-term investments of Rp3,001.2 trillion, fixed assets of Rp5,949.59 trillion, long-term receivables (net) of Rp56.88 trillion, and other assets of Rp967.98 trillion.
