31 Suspected Of Terrorists In Makassar Arrested By Densus 88
JAKARTA - A total of 31 suspected terrorists were arrested by the Densus 88 Antiterror Police team in Makassar, South Sulawesi, and surrounding areas. Densus 88 is still mapping the network of terrorist groups after the Makassar Cathedral church bombing.
"Until now after the suicide bombing at the Cathedral church, Densus managed to secure 31 suspected terrorists in Makassar and surrounding areas", said Head of Public Relations Division of Kombes Police Ahmad Ramadhan, Wednesday, April 14.
Those arrested were called Villa Mutiara group network, Biringkanaya, Makassar. The group is affiliated with JAD.
Previously, the National Police called the suspected terrorist group Villa Mutiara, Biringkanaya, Makassar using a nearby cluster pattern. The suspected terrorists took their family members.
"The way of recruitment is clearly the closest cluster, it's from the family usually", said Head of Public Relations Division Brig. Gen. Rusdi Hartono.
In this group, Rusdi is usually the head of the family or father who first belongs to the group. From there, his wife and children were invited in.
This recruitment pattern is called easier to develop Villa Mutiara Makassar group.
"The closest thing they're going to bring, it's the easiest part of how to get certain people with these understandings", Rusdi said.
