Already Vaccinated Sinovac 2 Times, Legislator PAN Want To Inject Vaccine Nusantara?

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PAN Faction of the House of Representatives, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, finally joined dozens of other members of parliament to visit the Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Gatot Soebroto, Wednesday, April 15.

Saleh said that the goal was to come to RSPAD to follow the vaccination procession using the Nusantara vaccine. Because according to him, interest in vaccines by the former Minister of Health Terawan Putranto was very high. As evidenced by the long queues that exist.

"RSPAD said, many want to be vaccinated. But they limit it. They are still focused on the studies and research conducted", Saleh said in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 15.

Members of Commission IX of the House of Representatives claimed to have several reasons why finally willing to be vaccinated using the Nusantara Vaccine. First, he has discussed with his researchers, both Indonesian researchers, and researchers from the US.

"I get a full explanation related to this Nusantara vaccine. And I believe that this vaccination is very good and effective to increase immunity", explained the member of the House of Representatives who has been injected twice Sinovac vaccine.

Second, he has also spoken to people who have been vaccinated with Nusantara Vaccine. According to them, this vaccine can be said to have no side effects while its effectiveness is excellent.

"After vaccinating, they measured their immunity levels. Evidently, their immunity levels rose quite high. They then recommended this vaccine to others, including me," said the legislator of North Sumatra II.

Third, Saleh sees that Nusantara Vaccine is very potential to be developed in Indonesia. Moreover, president Jokowi has requested that Indonesia prioritize domestic products.

"Well, this Nusantara Vaccine should be one example of domestic products that need to get the support and attention of the government", said the PAN politician.

Fourth, vaccination with Nusantara Vaccine is done limited. Therefore, it does not violate any provisions. Saleh hopes that by doing this vaccination, BPOM will be easier to give various kinds of permits needed.

"We dare to be an early example of vaccination. I see, the researchers and doctors in charge are all sincere. There is not the slightest political charge", said the Vice-chairman of the House of Representatives MKD.

Fifth, he believes that Indonesia's sovereignty and independence can be guaranteed in the field of health and medicine.

"I believe that the momentum of COVID-19 can be the entrance. Now we're still dependent on other countries. When embargoed, our vaccination program is immediately disrupted. At the very least, disrupt a pre-defined schedule. Independence and sovereignty are important", said Saleh.

Previously, Saleh claimed not to know the arrival of the House health commission to RSPAD at 10.00 WIB today voluntarily injected Nusantara Vaccine in clinical trial phase II or just control the course of vaccine development by the former Minister of Health Terawan Putranto. He said he had just read information from the media.

However, Saleh revealed that there had been discussions in the commission for this purpose. Because he had twice injected the Sinovac vaccine, he did not participate in the group to RSPAD.

"I was invited but I've had the Sinovac vaccine twice", he said.

However, sometimes Saleh saw present at RSPAD to follow the process of taking blood samples as an advanced stage of clinical trials of Nusantara Vaccine.
