BYD Sealion 7 SUV Present In UK, Sent To Customers Early Next Year

JAKARTA - Automotive manufacturers from China, Build Your Dreams or commonly called BYD announced the launch of the Sealion 7 SUV for the European market including the UK.

Reporting from Autocar, Tuesday, December 17, the model was built on the same e-Platform 3.0 architecture as Dolphin, Atto 3, and Seal.

Sealion 7 SUV uses a cell-to-body construction in which battery cells are mounted directly into chassis. The battery uses a lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) material that is the mainstay of BYD.

In addition, the car has a number of features such as a 15.6-inch touchscreen that can rotate in a portrait or landscape manner as well as the latest voice control system.

The feature is capable of detecting which of the five passengers speak from the four zones in the car, thus allowing the system to make specific adjustments to where the person sits.

Thus, this makes it easier for users to ask the system to reduce the temperature of the back seat and this technology will comply with what is ordered.

Furthermore, this car is claimed to have a trunk room of up to 520 liters with the back seat facing up and 1,789 liters when folded.

BYD will provide the model in three variants, namely Comfort as the initial type, Design positioned as the medium variant, and Excellence which is the highest.

Starting from Comfort, the Sealion 7 SUV is equipped with an electric motor measuring 308 dk and a torque of 380 Nm, thus making the model accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour in 6.7 seconds. Equipped with a battery of 82.5 kWh, this gives a range of up to 482 km in one charger.

The mid-type Design has a combined electric motor of up to 523 dk and a torque of 690 Nm so that it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. Owning a battery of the same capacity, this car is capable of traveling up to 455 km.

Meanwhile, the Excellence type has the same powertrain as the Design variant, but with a larger battery so that it can run as far as 502 km.

The initial two variants have the ability to charge from 10 to 80 percent in 32 minutes using a DC fast-charger of 150 kW and Excellence can charge in 10 to 80 percent at 24 minutes with a DC device of 230 kW.

This car is priced from 44,990 pounds to 57,290 pounds, equivalent to Rp915.4 million to Rp1.16 billion. Sealion 7 SUVs will be distributed early next year.
