3 Tired Points On The Trans Java Toll Road That Drivers Must Watch Out For During The Christmas-New Year Holiday

JAKARTA - Head of Korlantas (Kakorlantas) Polri Inspector General Pol. Aan Suhanan revealed three tired points along the Trans Java Toll Road to be anticipated ahead of the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year (Nataru) holidays.

"Tired points are on the eight-barang-Semarang toll road, Solo-Ngawi at KM 543, and Ngawi-Surabaya," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, December 16.

The National Police, he said, had increased the capacity of vehicles at rest areas so that tired drivers could rest first in order to minimize accidents due to fatigue.

"The counting has also been installed there, which shows that this location is already crowded or there are still two vehicles left and so on. We continue to improve the area," he said.

There are 700 accident-prone and congestion points, most of which are located on the island of Java. However, for the exact location, it is still mapping.

Kakorlantas said that his party had identified disaster-prone points along the homecoming route.

"On the toll road it is in 158 if I'm not mistaken. It has been (identified, ed.), but it was just a puddle. For yesterday's landslide, we had a coordination meeting with BPJT (Toll Road Management Agency) and Highways. It has been mitigated at a location where a potential landslide occurred," he said.

Regarding the application of contra flow, the two-star general said that Korlantas had conducted an evaluation in its application so that there would be no more vehicle congestion.

"Contra flow will still be enforced at a time when the flow or volume of traffic flow has increased until the vision ratio is cut off, it is above eight," he said.

In addition, officers will prepare signs so that vehicles passing by are driving at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour and officers will guide vehicles so that the speed of the control flow can be controlled.
