Nawawi Pomolango Believes That Harun Masiku's Search Is More Optimal In The Leadership Period Of Setyo Budiyanto

Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nawawi Pomolango believes that the search for former PDIP legislative candidate Harun Masiku can be more optimal in the era of Setyo Budiyanto's leadership.

This was conveyed by Nawawi while attending the taking of the oath of leadership and the KPK Supervisory Board for the period 2024-2029 at the State Palace, Jakarta today, Monday, December 16. He initially said that Setyo had served as Director of KPK Investigations when the bribery case related to the interim replacement (PAW) of the DPR was handled.

"Incidentally, the chairman has served as the director of the investigation and the case has been ongoing since he was still the director of the investigation," Nawawi told reporters at the location.

So, it is hoped that Setyo's inauguration will bring fresh air to Harun's search. "That will be more optimal too," he said.

Meanwhile, Setyo and four Deputy Chairmen of the KPK for the period 2024-2029 have just started carrying out their duties as of December 20 based on Presidential Decree Number 161P/2024. The oaths were also taken were Agus Joko Pramono, Fitroh Rohcahyanto, Ibnu Basuki Widodo, and Johanis Tanak.

Then, Prabowo also took the oath of the KPK Supervisory Board. They are Gusrizal as Chairman and concurrently Member of the Council and four members, namely Chisca Mirawati, Benny Mamoto, Wisnu Baroto, and Sumpeno.

In addition, Nawawi also highlighted a number of homework (PR) that must be completed by the KPK leadership for the period 2024-2029. One of them is the settlement of alleged corruption in business cooperation (KSU) and the acquisition of PT Jembatan Nusantara by PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero).

"There are some (most important cases, ed), (one of them, red) the handling of ASDP cases," said Nawawi.

It was previously reported that Harun Masiku had been a fugitive for four years or since 2020. This escape was carried out after being named a suspect in the bribery of former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to serve as a member of the DPR through the interim replacement mechanism (PAW).

The KPK ensures that Harun's search continues. Investigators developed new clues found in the car of the suspected briber Wahyu Setiawan in an apartment some time ago.

Then, the anti-corruption commission also summoned former Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly. He should have been summoned on Friday, December 12.

However, the PDI-P politician asked for a reschedule because there was an agenda that could not be abandoned. He will then be questioned on Wednesday, December 18.
