Update On COVID-19 As Of April 5: All Are Required To Wear Cloth Masks When Leaving The House

JAKARTA - Government spokesman for the handling of the COVID-19 virus Achmad Yurianto explained the development of cases as of Sunday, April 5 at 12.00 there were an additional 181 positive corona virus patients.

On Tuesday, April 1, there were 2,092 positive patients for the corona virus, then today it increased to 2,273 people. Thousands of positive cases are distributed in 32 provinces throughout Indonesia.

There are an additional 7 cases of patients who died, with the total per day reaching 198 people who died. As of today, there have been an additional 14 cases of patients who have recovered. The total number of patients recovered was 164 people.

The increasing number of positive cases, Yuri believed, was an illustration that there were still transmission of positive cases of the corona virus without symptoms in the midst of society.

"Therefore, the discipline of togetherness in controlling this disease is an important key. We can be heroes to protect ourselves, protect our families and parents who have higher vulnerabilities," said Yuri at a press conference at Graha BNPB, East Jakarta. , Sunday, April 5.

The form of discipline that people must obey at this time, said Yuri, is the obligation to use a mask when leaving the house. Masks that can be used by the community are made of cloth. Meanwhile, surgical masks and N95 are intended for medical personnel.

Yuri suggested that cloth masks should not be worn for more than 4 hours. If necessary, prepare a spare mask. Because, after use, the mask must be washed using soapy water.

"Protect ourselves using cloth masks when leaving the house. This is important because we never know there are so many people without symptoms outside. We don't know that they are the source of the spread of disease," Yuri explained.

Apart from using masks, Yuri also asked people to wash their hands using soap. Then, get rid of the habit of touching your face, such as your mouth, nose, and eyes before washing your hands.
