Rafael Leao's Magic Goal: Perfect Feed From Fofana
JAKARTA - Rafael Leao once again contributed decisively to AC Milan's victory over the Red Star 2-1 in the Champions League on Thursday, December 12, 2024, early morning WIB.
He opened the Rossoneri lead in the 42nd minute through an unexpected goal. Leao escaped from offside, very thin, when he met Fofana's Yousofff long pass.
The control was nicely followed by a dribel into the penalty box before firing a left-footed shot from an unexpected angle by goalkeeper Red Star Belgrade.
However, Leao did not want to celebrate alone. He felt his goal would not be born without a pass from Fofana which he called the perfect pass.
"He (Fofana) is a very important player. He's a person who fits me very well. His movement is something he knows, he knows that when I have space, I will run."
"The ball was perfect. I just had to control it well and then kicked it quickly before the goalkeeper came."

"Yes, I'm happy with that goal," Rafael Leao said after the match, as reported by Football Italia.
Apart from that, Leao realized that the victory against the Red Star Belgrade was difficult.
Milan almost conceded first if the visitors' golden opportunity did not hit the crossbar in the 16th minute.
The journey of the second half was also three years of money. Red Star Belgrade equalized.
Luckily, Tammy Abraham scored a goal in stoppage time to ensure AC Milan's victory.
"However, the most important thing is victory. It was difficult, but in the end, we deserved it," Leao said.
The victory brought AC Milan to 12th place in the standings with 12 points from six matches, which had not been played (four wins and two defeats).
There are still two more matches that must be maximized by the Rossoneri to be able to enter the top eight, aka the qualifying zone directly to the round of 16 in the Champions League this season.
